So I have something embarrassing to admit: I have a penchant for really bad rom coms.
One of my recent favourites was How to Be Single with Dakota Johnson and Rebel Wilson. Probably a huge reason why I like the movie so much is because Dakota Johnson is one of my biggest style icons on and off screen and the movie took place in NYC (I swear, any movie or TV show that takes place in New York is always a good one).
In one scene she wore this bomber that I never ever forgot about. It looked like this Saint Laurent Jacket, which Aritzia recently did their own variation on (that I obviously swiped up ASAP). In this post I decided to pare down the feminine vibe of this polka dot mini dress with the bomber and a pair of patent leather ankle boots. Anyone close to me knows that I have a talent for making something sexy look the very opposite (think Man-Repeller style).

I love fall. You know how everyone waits for summer to start, and act as if the whole rest of the year is total hell and the most difficult to get through? Well that’s like me, except with fall. It’s like I finally feel at ease because the weather cools down and I can cozy up in a sweater whenever I feel like it. Maybe it’s because the beginning of autumn always signalled the new school year and a fresh start, but I will never shake that feeling of excitement I get when the first few leaves start to fall and the days get shorter.
Another reason why fall is the best? New clothes! This year I’ve made a strict wish list which consists of a pretty lace dress, a pair of well made loafers, cropped flare denim, as well as a big cozy wrap coat.
On another note, this season also marks my first full time career job that I can’t wait to start at Aritzia support office. Here’s to new beginnings — I hope your fall is as good as mine! 🙂
When you live in a city with so many wonderful donut options, it can get tricky when you have to give your loyalty to someone. For me, my allegiance has always stuck with Lucky’s Doughnuts, brought to you by the coffee gods at 49th Parallel.
Both locations, whether it’s the warm wood tones at the Main Street shop, or the light and airy insides of the Kits location, are a dream to me, and I will continue to venture over and divulge into some of the most scrumptious donuts I’ve ever tasted.
In this post, I ordered one of their most popular flavours, the Blueberry Bismarck with lemon filling. It’s so decadent that you might need to share it with a friend, but you can’t go wrong. Writing this has my mouth watering just thinking about it, so a quick trip this weekend may be in order.
What are your favourite donut shops? Any suggestions are always welcome below in the comments section.
