Get Lost: Toronto’s Bake Shoppe

If you ever find yourself craving something sweet, be sure to make your way to Toronto’s Bake Shoppe, situated on the south side of College near Ossington. Part wedding cake emporium, part innovative bakery, the shop was relaunched about a year ago by Toronto partners and sisters Cindy and Sarah Coelho.

The bakery is known for its homemade pop tarts, daily selection of cupcakes and unique bites such as the Ruffles Marshmallow and S’mores bars. On the menu this past summer were their ice cream sandwiches, made with unique ice cream flavours squished between two warm and gooey cookies. Special this season, Bake Shoppe is featuring their signature pop tarts in seasonal flavours such as Pumpkin Pie, Cinnamon Bun and S’mores, as well as miniature pies made to order.

Not only are all sweets baked the morning of, but all ingredients are locally sourced and organic. Bringing in the top guns, the sisters enlisted in Parkdale’s Kitten and the Bear to fill their pop tarts with the most decadent jams found in Toronto.

Scroll through the photos below and then do yourself a favour and go get a Pumpkin Pie Pop Tart—before they’re all gone.
